- What can I do to fix my A3000 SCSI problems? I used to have two fairly
- large sized HD's on my computer. I have a 540 meg Seagate & had a 345
- meg Maxtor. They worked fine together, but after a while the 540 Meg hd
- would get Read errors, or checksum errors. I figured that it was getting
- old & I was always told Seagate HD's were crap. But one day I accidently
- bumped my 345 Maxtor HD with the cover to the 3000 & killed the drive.
- So I just replaced it with an extra 40 meg HD I had laying around. And
- now there are no problems at all! The 540 meg is running like new & has
- never gotten an error. Well that's not completely true, my 540 meg HD
- got a shitload of errors when I tried hooking up my CD-Rom to the
- external SCSI port which brought me to blame the Amiga SCSI chip for my
- HD problems! Is this actually a problem with the SCSI chip, is there a
- way to fix it? I want to buy a new hard drive to replace the 40 meg HD,
- but I want to make sure it will work. (The 40 meg is 5 1/4 so I can't put
- the case back on untill I get a 3 1/5!)
